Introduction to modified/impregnated activated carbon:
Modified/impregnated activated carbon uses high-quality columnar activated carbon or granular activated carbon as a carrier and is refined by impregnation (impregnated with silver, copper oxide, molybdenum, phosphoric acid, KOH, NaOH, etc.). It has three characteristics: activity, selectivity and stability, adsorption , good catalytic performance and efficient comprehensive gas purification. Impregnated activated carbon products have a large specific surface area, suitable pore structure, high mechanical strength, can withstand high temperature and high pressure, are not easily broken, are easy to regenerate, and have a long service life.
Modified/impregnated activated carbon can remove harmful gases such as acid gas, ammonia, carbon dioxide, formaldehyde, etc., and can also protect against various poisonous gases such as chloride and arsenide.
Impregnated activated carbon is used to adsorb gases and vapors that standard activated carbon adsorbs little or not at all. These are low molecular and polar substances with low concentrations and toxic effects. Harmful substances undergo a complex chemical reaction with the impregnating agent, which removes the substance from the air - the harmful gases chemically combine with the impregnating agent in the activated carbon (chemical adsorption).
Modified/impregnated activated carbon applications:
1. It is widely used to remove organic gases and toxic gases in air or other gas streams, such as hydrogen sulfide, sulfur dioxide, hydrogen cyanide, arsine, phosphine, formaldehyde, etc.
2. Used for the purification of chemical raw material gases, chemical synthesis gases, pharmaceutical industry gases, carbon dioxide gas for beverages and hydrogen, chlorine, hydrogen chloride, ethylene, acetylene, cracked gas, inert gases, etc. and the purification and separation of exhaust gases from atomic facilities. And refining, hydrogen sulfide gas removal, PTA device oxidation gas adsorption, etc.
3. Impregnated activated carbon plays a vital role in the purification of poison gas masks and gas tanks.
